Overview

Yarra Planning Scheme Amendment C271yara proposes permanent built form planning controls to land in the Fitzroy and Collingwood Major and Neighbourhood Activity Centres and nearby commercial and mixed use zone areas in Fitzroy, Collingwood and Clifton Hill. The proposed planning controls aim to guide building heights, setbacks, and design outcomes to support growth in well-serviced locations within the Inner Melbourne Train and Tram Zone.

The Minister for Planning referred to Amendment C271 to the Yarra Activity Centres Standing Advisory Committee for advice on specific matters. The letter of referral (dated 22 December 2026), specific matters for referral and Committee’s updated Terms of Reference (dated 22 December 2026) are attached below.

The Committee will provide advice to the Minister for Planning on the referred matters, including the proposed Built Form Overlay schedules, which are available to download below.
