Priority Projects referral 41: 1221-1249 Centre Road, Oakleigh South (Talbot Village)

Overview

Sterling Global has requested that the Minister for Planning prepare an amendment to the Monash Planning Scheme to facilitate residential development at 1221-1249 Centre Road, Oakleigh South (former Talbot Quarry site).The Minister for Planning has referred the proposal to the Priority Projects Standing Advisory Committee for advice as to whether there is sufficient information on the geotechnical and environmental risks stemming from the land’s former uses as a quarry and landfill for the proposal to proceed to public exhibition as a draft amendment.

Consultation session

To inform its advice and recommendations, the Committee held a one-day consultation session on Wednesday 14 August 2024. The purpose of this session was for the Committee to explore the technical issues on which it has been asked to advise with the Proponent, its experts, and other relevant parties.

The Committee will now prepare a report for the Minister for Planning in accordance with its Terms of Reference.
