Overview
The Department of Transport and Planning has referred draft South Gippsland Planning Scheme Amendment C135sgip and unresolved submissions to the Flood-related Amendments Standing Advisory Committee (the Committee) for consideration and advice. This referral to the Committee has been made under delegation from the Minister for Planning at the request of South Gippsland Shire Council.
The draft Amendment proposes to implement ten flood studies by:
- updating the extent of the Land Subject to Inundation Overlay Schedule 1 (LSIO1) for areas subject to inundation (flood depth less than or equal to 0.3 metres)
- applying a new LSIO Schedule 2 (LSIO2) to land not directly inundated, but where property access is affected by floodwaters to a depth of at least 0.3 metres
- applying the Floodway Overlay (FO) where the 1% Annual Exceedance Probability flooding modelled depth exceeds 0.3 metres.
